As the seasons change, and we face the prospect of wintry weather over the months ahead, the roll out of fibre broadband continues apace. The early part of 2016 has seen us reaching a significant milestone – 500,000 homes and businesses in Scotland can now get fibre broadband. Over the last two years, Openreach engineers have laid over 5000 km of fibre cable – enough to stretch all the way from Glasgow to New York. We have just announced that premises in 28 further exchanges around Scotland will soon be enabled for fibre broadband, all the way from Sauchen, Schivas and Wartle in Aberdeenshire to Gordon, Grantshouse and Drochil Castle in the Scottish Borders.Read newsletter
