Enjoying superfast broadband in Argyll & Bute

Wednesday, 28 August 2024

In the scenic village of Cove, near Helensburgh, Argyll & Bute, Janet Linda Darbey’s broadband was slow and unreliable. This poor service meant frequent buffering and made her daily activities and online communication difficult.

Thanks to the Scottish Government’s R100 Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme (SBVS), registered SBVS supplier Leisure Connect successfully installed a Fixed Wireless connection at Janet's residence and her connectivity woes are now a thing of the past:

"It has improved communication enormously," Janet Linda says. "Before, I used to have a poor service with gaps in broadband and very poor upload speeds."

Thanks to her new superfast broadband connection, with speeds above 30 Megabits per second (Mbps), Janet Linda's online experience has been transformed. She can now make purchases online more frequently, reducing the need for travel to physical stores. "I order online more and travel less for shopping," she explains, enjoying the convenience and efficiency that the improved service brings to her life.

Janet Linda can now also stay in touch with friends and family through video calls, and streaming high-definition content on platforms like Netflix is now seamless and enjoyable.

"I recommend superfast broadband, absolutely," Janet Linda stated. "It's the best broadband I have ever had.

"I am very pleased, I am really benefitting from the R100 SBVS scheme."
