The Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme's ‘intervention area’ was defined at the beginning of the contract in 2012 using known postcode data from 2011. This means new postcodes created for properties built after this time are not included in our programme's roll-out of faster broadband. The ‘intervention area’ is the legally defined area where we are permitted to invest public funding in compliance with European State Aid legislation. For the new properties and postcodes created since this time we are working towards a solution that will work across Scotland, whilst maintaining compliance with the relevant legislation.
